A campaign aimed at fighting DUI has recently taken place in the Tri-Cities. On this 14 day operation that lasted Until Labor Day, a combined force of hundreds of police officers from Benton and Franklin counties patrolled the streets till Labor Day.
The results were grim. Seventy people were arrested in Tri-Cities, while 1603 were arrested all over the state due to DUI offenses. These statistics indicate a slight increase in the number of arrests compared to a parallel campaign that took place exactly one year ago in which sixty-six drivers were nabbed due to driving under the influence of dangerous alcoholic and narcotic substances.
